GC Fire Department
Reinforced Door Simulator
Council 1869 is proud to have provided a grant to the Garden City Fire Department for the purchase of a state-of-the-art Forcible Entry Door Simulator.
This vital piece of training equipment ensures our local firefighters can train on a highly durable, reinforced door to prepare for various high-pressure situations they may encounter during emergency responses.
Through this grant, Council 1869 continues its commitment to supporting our first responders, ensuring they have the top-tier tools necessary to keep themselves and the community safe.
GC Youth Lacrosse
4 new automated external defibrillator (AED) machines
Council 1869 is proud to have funded a vital safety initiative requested by Garden City Youth Lacrosse: the purchase of four new automated external defibrillator (AED) machines. These life-saving devices will replace expired units and will be housed across all town fields to ensure immediate access in the event of a sudden cardiac emergency.
Life-Saving Readiness: Having functioning AEDs readily available on town fields ensures that coaches, parents, and bystanders can act instantly during a critical medical emergency.
Protecting the Whole Community: While requested by the youth lacrosse league, these fields host a wide variety of community sports and public events, meaning this gift establishes a permanent safety net for thousands of local children and families year-round.
Through this donation, Council 1869 continues its mission to protect our youth and ensure that recreational spaces remain as safe as they are vibrant.

This low-speed electric vehicle serves as a fantastic, eco-friendly addition to our local police fleet, specifically tailored to elevate community policing efforts.
By equipping the Garden City Police Department with this versatile neighborhood vehicle, Council 1869 is proud to help foster positive community relationships while keeping our public spaces safe and accessible during local gatherings.
GC SEPTA Autism Ball
The Garden City SEPTA (Special Education Parent Teacher Association) Annual Autism Ball is a cherished local tradition that provides a memorable, inclusive, and semi-formal evening for our community's students while raising critical awareness and funds.
Fostering Inclusion: Run by Garden City SEPTA, the event offers a safe, celebratory, and welcoming environment specifically designed for children with special needs and their peers to connect and celebrate together.
Funding Vital Programs: Proceeds and donations from the Autism Ball directly support special education initiatives, specialized equipment, local group homes, and recreational camps for individuals with special needs throughout the village and Nassau County.
Strengthening Community Bonds: By backing this wonderful milestone event, Council 1869 helps champion SEPTA's mission to educate families, advocate for inclusion, and bridge the gap between home and school for all students in the district.
Council 1869 is incredibly proud to invest in events like the Autism Ball that celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and ensure every child feels supported and valued.
