Events & Programs
Where Community
Meets Purpose
Every event is an opportunity to connect, give back, and create impact together. The small things matter— and by supporting one, or all, of our events you are driving meaningful change.
Annual Signature Events
Council 1869 events bring people together to create meaningful change. Every event supports one of our three pillars—Childhood Education, Health Equity, or Community—turning participation into impact.
Golf & Tennis Outing
Supporting Childhood Education
Held at Cherry Valley Club, our annual Golf & Tennis Outing supports early childhood education and school readiness initiatives across Long Island.
Whether you're playing, sponsoring, or joining us for brunch and dinner, your participation helps give more children the strong start they deserve.
Fall Ball
Supporting Health Equity
The Fall Ball is an evening of community, celebration, and impact. Proceeds support programs that expand access to healthcare, family support services, and wellness resources for Long Island children and families.
Guests enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring live and silent auctions, inspiring stories, and opportunities to make a difference.
Garden City Turkey Trot
Supporting Community
For nearly 50 years, the Garden City Turkey Trot has brought neighbors, families, and friends together on Thanksgiving morning.
More than a race, it's a beloved community tradition that raises funds for vital causes and celebrates the power of giving back. Council 1869 is honored to carry this tradition forward for future generations.
Community Events
Volunteer Days
From backpack drives to community service projects, Volunteer Days provide hands-on opportunities to support local children and families while making a tangible difference close to home.
Educational Workshops
Our workshops connect community members with trusted experts on topics ranging from health and wellness to parenting, education, and family resources.
Community Partnerships
Through partnerships with local nonprofits, businesses, and service organizations, we support initiatives that address immediate needs and strengthen our community year-round.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. "
